Oracle of the Dragonfae by Lucy Cavendish

Queen Oonagh

"There is a practical approach to a seemingly unsolvable problem; if you take this tack, it will have fantastic results. Look at how you can follow the letter of the law, so to speak, and yet be innovative and clever in your approach. Put your own needs first and do not be a victim in this situation. There is a way out, and it involves using your wits and wiles, and being aware that it is right and fair for you to do so when you have so much at stake! Using the gifts of the Earth and of Gaia, of air and water, for practical ends with magickal results. Affinity with rowan-wood." Lucy Cavendish

Today is about using the proper communication skills to change a undesirable situation. And truth be told, most likely it was the lack of communication that caused the issue in the first place. I know that when I don't keep my communication skills in check me and my husband will be saying the exact same thing but will be fighting because we are not communicating. Everything in life rests your ability to properly communicate.

The book "Crucial Conversations: How to Talk When Stakes are High" by Grenny, Patterson, and McMillan explains that when communications break down people will go "silent or violent," meaning that they will either clam up and stop speaking or they will start with the yelling. Think about when you are in an argument, I bet you do one of these things. When the break down of communication has reached this point it is important to make the other person feel safe in the conversation and this can be done quickly by accepting guilt and apologizing. It doesn't matter if you're right or wrong, this simple act will help bring the other person back to the point of being able to communicate. For more detailed description of how to create safety please get this book. It did save my marriage.

If you are not good at communicating then do some personal development and develop that skill. Because this is a skill that you will use the rest of your life. Stop and think about how better communication can solve the problems you are facing right now. If all parties involved could sit down and have a rational discussion without anyone getting upset to the point of "silence or violence" then things could be solved, and that is up to you to accomplish.

Today improve your communication skills to solve your problems.
